Marketing Specialist Job Description About the Role At Visible Hands, we are looking for a Marketing Specialist to help develop and execute our marketing and communication strategy in order to support our fund’s marketing, brand, and communications goals. We are looking for a creative, hardworking, and experienced marketing professional to help scale our content and marketing initiatives. In this role, you will be working closely with the Visible Hands team on a diverse range of projects to support our firms’ marketing strategy and execution. This role reports to the Head of Marketing and Brand at Visible Hands.There will be a plethora of opportunities for growth and development, including times when you will support our fellows and program participants. Here is what the role might look like:You will support maintaining and contributing content for our communication channels, which include our company’s website, social media channels, newsletter, and help us improve our content marketing over timeYou will support our team in their goals around content marketing and campaigns to support thought leadership activitiesYou will help us in marketing activities that align with our program - such as medium article writing and recruiting content for our upcoming 2022 fellowship programYou may support our PR announcements and media activities that relate to our team’s external communications (e.g. speaking engagements, press releases, etc.)In collaboration with our Head of Marketing and Brand, you will seek to understand the impact of your work and our marketing campaigns by setting up and monitoring data to help us adjust our strategy/campaigns accordingly. This might include: measuring and reporting performance of all communications and digital marketing campaigns against goals (KPIs, ROI), identifying trends and insights, optimizing spend and performance based on the insights, and planning, executing and measuring incrementality and creative testsYou may also support creating templates and operationalizing some of our marketing processes so we can be more efficient over time About You You are a team player who enjoys not only collaborating with others, you are someone who also can take initiative and follow through when given ownership of a projectYou have outstanding writing, copyediting, and verbal communication skillsYou have a track record and exposure to PR, content creation, social media management, brand management, and/or design fundamentals.You’re able to initiate projects and work independently, setting and meeting deadlines You are able to multi-task and manage juggling multiple responsibilitiesYou might have experience using Google suite, Notion, Slack (but if not, you’re willing to learn)You aren’t afraid to bring creative ideas, your own POV, and challenge the old ways of doing things (which is great because we’re still a pretty young organization) Prior Experience3 – 5 years experience in content marketing, writing, content creation, or related roleExperience writing and creating content across a variety of mediums Some Perks:Unlimited PTORemote-first organization (coworking membership comped by VH to a space near you if you’d like to have an office space to go into for work)Medical and Dental Coverage401K OfferingPaid 14-week parental leaveNo Meeting Fridays$1000 Perks BudgetOrganizational remote team culture with team flown in quarterly to meet upAmple opportunities for professional development Team and company culture dedicated to creating a psychologically safe environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion About Visible HandsVisible Hands was founded in 2020 with the vision of narrowing the VC funding gap. Visible Hands is a VC fund with a 14-week, virtual-first fellowship program that supports overlooked talent in building technology startups by providing company-building services and investments of up to $200k. Starting on day zero, we resource an annual cohort of 30+ fellows to work full-time to build their startups. Each founder receives meaningful funding, support with finding a co-founder, and access to an incredible network of advisors, customers, and investors.
