We are hiring a Community Specialist to formalize and grow the communities that exist to support our portfolio companies. We are seeking a detail-oriented relationship manager to cultivate these networks ranging from our entrepreneurs, investors seeking to fund them, and designers and engineers aspiring to work at a startup. This is an evolving role and we see this position as a critical part of our organizational growth. Responsibilities - Foster community-building related activities for our entrepreneurs and our alumni - Manage mentor-related programming for our entrepreneurs during the 14-week fellowship - Manage database of stakeholders (especially around VCs and angel investors) for the team to easily access and leverage for portfolio support - Design and execute programming and products to support communities of overlooked talent (designers, engineers) in the startup ecosystem - Project manage and coach colleagues on their portfolio of relationships - Track and measure the 'social capital' value we provide to our portfolio companies - Support internal committees advising Visible Hands on our talent, fellowship, portfolio, and ecosystem strategies
About You - An excellent, versatile communicator who is able to adapt to the person and the context - Reliable and detail-oriented relationship manager who is proactive on outreach and follow-through - Has the ability to organize the chaos of information (ex. thousands of stakeholders) into a streamlined process - Thrives in ambiguity and is motivated to own an important function in a growing organization - Intellectually curious and diligent in refining their craft of community building - A level of creativity when designing spaces for connections - Experienced facilitator for group discussions, big and small
