Speakers: Cathy Tie, Genevieve Ryan Bellaire, Jordan Huck
Genevieve is the Founder and CEO of Realworld, a platform to navigate adulthood and its life moments. A lawyer by training, Genevieve began her career at Goldman Sachs and started Realworld to tackle the critical knowledge gap and societal need to prepare young adults to navigate decisions around personal finance, health care, and insurance - what the team calls "real world readiness". To date, she and her team have helped thousands of young adults set themselves on a path to success in early adulthood. Earlier this year, they raised $3.4 million in seed funding.
Cathy is 2x founder. She started Ranomics, a genetic testing company, and was selected as a Thiel Fellow a few years later. She left Ranomics in 2017 and two years later created her current start-up, Locke Bio. Locke Bio creates back-end tech that is used to set up a telehealth business quickly and affordably. Any e-health enterprise that wants to set up a direct-to-consumer online platform can do it through Locke Bio's software—the process is as simple as setting up a Shopify store. In the past year, they've received funding from investors like Anne Wojcicki from 23andMe, 10x Capital and Origins Pharmacy.
Jordan joined Notch in 2019 as President to help build the world’s first trusted food distribution marketplace. Notch brings transparency and efficiency for restaurants and food services distributors in Toronto and Chicago. As restaurants re-open and increasingly look to eliminate inefficiencies and food waste, Notch is working to fulfill pent up demand from the pandemic with company sales and revenue increasing by more than 450 per cent since April 2020. Their recent round of capital will allow Notch to bring the supply chains of even more of North America's emerging and established restaurant chains and food brands, online. It will also fund ongoing innovation, be used to attract and retain world class talent and for continued US expansion.
